Social Skills Class for High Functioning Young Adults with Autism

Join Our Social Skills Class for High Functioning Young Adults with Autism

We are thrilled to announce the launch of our new social skills class tailored exclusively for high functioning young adults with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Our program is designed to help you navigate the complexities of everyday social interactions and improve your communication skills in a warm, friendly, and supportive environment.

Here's an overview of what the class includes:

Peer and Professional Support

Our class fosters a community where you can connect and share experiences with others who truly understand what you're going through. In addition to benefiting from peer support, you'll also receive guidance and insight from Gerry Brady, LCSW and Victoria Hardesty, LCSW, who specialize in high functioning ASD. This balance between professional and peer support guarantees a well-rounded learning experience.  Hearing about others’ experiences and how they've navigated certain situations can provide you with practical insights and validate your own experiences. The shared wisdom in our group forms a rich resource that goes beyond textbook knowledge.

Wide Range of Topics

We'll be covering a broad array of topics to help you succeed in various aspects of life. These include socializing, dating, seeking and maintaining employment, nurturing friendships, and effectively communicating with family members. Our goal is to provide you with practical strategies and tools to help you manage these areas with confidence.

Real-Life Practice

In our safe and welcoming space, you'll have the opportunity to practice and role-play real-life situations. This method allows you to explore different responses and behaviors in a non-threatening environment, helping you to gain confidence and develop robust social skills that you can utilize in the outside world.

Community Outing

We believe in the importance of practicing skills in real-world settings. Therefore, at the end of our class, we will organize a group outing in the community. This will serve as an opportunity to apply the skills you've learned in a public setting, further solidifying your learnings from the class.

Join us on this journey of self-improvement and skill-building, where you'll find a supportive community of peers and professionals who truly understand your experiences. Together, we can enhance your social skills, build your confidence, and empower you to successfully navigate the social world.
